Please see the details below.
■ Design
Obverse: King Edward VII
Inscription: EDWARD VII CROWNED 9 AUGUST 1902
Reverse: Queen Alexandra
Inscription: ALEXANDRA QUEEN CONSORT 9 AUGUST 1902
Note: The originally planned coronation of Edward VII was scheduled for June 26, 1902, but it was postponed after he fell ill with appendicitis. The coronation was eventually held on August 9, 1902, at Westminster Abbey.
According to the Royal Mint’s report, a large number of medals with the original June 26 date were initially prepared but later recalled due to the delay. However, some medals with this earlier date still exist and are considered extremely rare.
This particular piece, inscribed "9 AUGUST 1902," was presented to guests who attended the rescheduled coronation.

Rarity

Given that these medals were distributed to guests at the coronation, the mintage was limited, contributing to their extreme rarity.
Edward VII coins are highly sought after, particularly because his reign lasted only 10 years. These coins are rarely seen on the market, as collectors are reluctant to part with them, and when they do appear, they are quickly snapped up due to high demand.
Condition
Ranked as the 3rd highest graded piece, with only 7 coins graded higher.
It maintains an SP grade, showcasing its exceptional condition.
Market Appeal
British coins are a staple of the antique coin market, and their value has shown significant appreciation in recent years, underscoring their enduring popularity.
In addition to their rarity and artistic value, large medals like this one have also benefited from the rising price of gold, as their weight translates to a substantial bullion value. As a result, these medals consistently fetch high prices in global markets.
